Eating disorders like anorexia nervosa are serious medical illness, so you must take recourse to its treatment as soon as you detect it. In severe cases, this kind of disorder can lead to many other ailments or even death.
One of the effective treatments for anorexia is psychotherapy or psychological counseling along with medical and nutritional support and guidance. But the treatment can vary from individual to individual, depending on the severity of the case.
The psychological counseling will help the person suffering from anorexia to get a grip on their fear of eating and underlying causes that caused the eating disorder in the first place. A regular consultation with the registered dietician can help the individual to regain their habit of normal eating.
You can try to contact the support groups in your neighborhood which will help you to locate treatment centers. Here, the individual is removed from the unhealthy environment to an environment to educate them about the core causes of eating disorder and identify their own troubles relating to it.
